Eurasia Tunnel Part 1&3 Basic and Detailed Design Projects

Eurasia Tunnel which is one of the most prestigious projects of İstanbul was opened on 20th of December 2016. The project area consists of the tunnel and approach roads on both European and Asian side. The route starts on Florya-Sirkeci Coastal Road (Kennedy Boulevard) near Kazlıçesme on the European Side and connects to Ankara State Highway (D-100) around Göztepe Interchange on the Asian Side. D-100 on the Asian side is a 3 lane road in each direction. This segment is heavily used for both local and transit traffic. Florya-Sirkeci is a coastal road with two lanes in each direction separated with a 2 lane transit road in the European side of the project. It was aimed to add Eurasian Corridor covering a total of 14.6 corridor as an alternative to the three bridges connecting two sides of İstanbul in order to alleviate the traffic load on the bridges and shorten the travel time between Kazlıçeşme and Göztepe.

Basic and Detailed Projects, Construction Methodologies, Bill of Quantity Tables and Project Specifications of Land part (Part 1 & Part 3) of the Eurasia Tunnel Project, excluding the 5.4 km tunnel part (Part 2) under the seabed level, are completed according to U.S. (AASHTO, ACI etc.), Europe (BS, Eurocode) and Turkey (TS500, Ministry of Transportation Seismic Code for Coastal and Harbor Structures, Railways and Airport Constructions etc.) Technical Specifications in a manner of a blend ensuring building safety.

Basic and Detailed Projects, 35 km Highway Design with side roads, 3 Underpasses in Yenikapı, Samatya and Uzunçayır, 2 Bridge Extensions in Kosuyolu and Uzunçayır, 1 U-Turn Bridge in Kazlıçeşme and 5 Pedestrian Overpasses on the D100, Soil Nail Retaining Walls, Prestressing Anchorage Retaining Structures, Diaphragm Walls, Retaining Walls, Jet-Grout Soil Improvement Systems and Infrastructure Designs (plan, profile and structural projects), of Eurasia Tunnel are completed by implementing fail-safe integration with the existing systems.

2-stage analysis are performed with 3D finite elements on all vehicle and pedestrian bridges. Linear analysis and nonlinear push-over analysis are performed by using site-specific response spectrum for the bridges. In Samatya and Yenikapi Underpasses with diaphragm walls, non-linear displacement- time history analysis are performed together with soil-structure interaction analysis; where soil in the pile regions were defined by p-y, t-z, q-z springs.

Soil swelling, excavation area heel swell, structure buoyancy assessment reports, impermeability and dewatering analysis and settlement countour analysis are covered for all risky structures.

Multiple chimney systems are designed by determining the design requirements of existing and new Infrastructure Systems. Pipe covering and protection structures are designed to strengthen existing infrastructure systems.

Traffic analysis are made according to detailed projects, which evaluated as a whole with the traffic system. Traffic Management Projects are planned for the construction phases. Temporary and permanent traffic marking projects, landscape designs and lighting projects are also prepared for these phases.
