Erzurum Urban Rail System Line Feasibility Studies Preparation Work

This study is to be submitted for approval from the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, General Directorate of Infrastructure Investments (AYGM) of the preliminary projects and feasibility studies of the Urban Rail System Lines, which are envisaged in line with the passenger demands of the projection year within the scope of 2030 Erzurum Transportation Master Plan (EUAP), which aims at public transportation priority transportation.

In line with the passenger demands determined within the scope of the Transportation Master Plan, two priority routes, which are subject to feasibility, were designed as rail system lines. Train Station-Atatürk University Line and Train Station-Y.Sultan Selim Cad. Line:

The line that continues from the Bölge Eğitim ve Araştırma Hospital. continues parallel to Çat Yolu and ends at the rail yard at Km:10+961.729. The rail yard area will be established on an area of approximately 65,000 m² at the end of the main line. Within the scope of the yard area arrangement, units such as vehicle storage area, transformer, rail yard area service building, workshop building and water tank were located.

With the service road built around the rail yard area, where a maximum of 38 vehicles can be stopped and parked in total, it is possible for rubber-wheeled vehicles to reach and make the necessary interventions easily.

Information about the urban rail system route and design criteria, which is planned to be made with the preliminary project study, is given. In this context, the service conditions, operating objectives and technical design principles for the two lines were determined and projects have been prepared.

In the feasibility study studies, the "Technical Specifications" of the tram route and the "Transportation Study", in which the model results for the prediction of travel demands are conveyed, has been prepared. The projection year of the "Transportation Study" is accepted as 2030, the projection year of the "Erzurum Transportation Master Plan". However, the results have been prepared in line with the target of 2050 in order to evaluate the economic and financial situation of the investment. The "Financial and Economic Analysis", in which the annual economic analysis is made by evaluating the benefits and costs that will arise in the event of the construction of the lines, in terms of the national economy, and the "Sensitivity Analysis" studies, in which the effect on the profitability of the project is investigated, have been prepared within the scope of the rail system feasibility study.
